Kuai Shan Fang Wins Four Gold Awards at Japan International Gift Design Competition
Taiwan’s renowned essential oil and fragrance brand, Kuai Shan Fang, recently achieved remarkable success at the Japan International Omiyage (Souvenir) Design Competition held in Tokyo. Showcasing designs that reflect distinctive Taiwanese cultural elements alongside exceptional product quality, the brand proudly secured four Gold Awards.
The competition was jointly organized by the Japan International Exchange Association and the Taiwan Cultural Festival Executive Committee. It attracted nearly one hundred entries from eight countries, including Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and the United States, highlighting a diverse and highly competitive international field.

Kuai Shan Fang founders Chris Lee(李清勇) and Rachel Huang(黃素秋) personally traveled to Tokyo on August 8 to attend the competition and awards ceremony.
The brand’s four award-winning gift sets — the Hinoki Pure Essential Oil Gift Set(檜純精油禮盒), Bath & Hand Care Gift Set(禮浴護手禮盒), Hinoki Nourishing Hand Cream Gift Set(檜木制菌滋潤護手霜禮盒), and the Five-Senses Forest Therapy Mask Gift Set(五感森林療癒面膜禮盒) — each embody the company’s core philosophy: “Nature, Sustainability, and the Breath of the Forest.”
Distinguished by their circular and regenerative design concepts, as well as their strong Taiwanese identity, all four collections stood out among international competitors and were honored with Gold Awards.
The Japanese judging panel highly praised the gift sets for their sustainable innovation and culturally distinctive presentation. In particular, the **Five-Senses Forest Therapy Mask Gift Set** impressed judges with its immersive multi-sensory experience, uniquely incorporating an auditory element to create a truly engaging forest-inspired ritual.

It is worth noting that all entries in the competition were required to undergo professional product testing by the judging panel. Submissions were evaluated across four key criteria: creativity, marketability, overall design, and product functionality. Only entries scoring above 90 points were awarded a Gold Medal. With their exceptional quality and innovative design, Kuai Shan Fang’s four gift sets emerged as clear standouts, making the brand one of the biggest winners of this year’s competition.
In addition to the gift design awards, the event also featured the "3rd Taiwan Cultural Festival", which introduced visitors to Taiwan’s cuisine, night market culture, tourism highlights, and more. The festival attracted over 50,000 visitors, drawing significant public interest. Numerous well-known Taiwanese brands — including Saint Mary’s Bakery and Shun Cheng Cake — also showcased their signature products during the event.
The Japan International Exchange Association stated that it will continue to organize cultural and business exchange initiatives in the future, providing more opportunities for premium Taiwanese brands to shine on the global stage and further demonstrate Taiwan’s competitiveness in the international market.
